While everything from chic short cuts to super-long layers and bangs are on trend for next season, if the pros had to pick just one of the biggest winter hairstyles to watch out for, it should be bangs.
“Bangs, which the pros refer to as fringes, are making a big entrance this season.” michelle cleveland, Celebrity hairstylist, hair extension artist, educator, and owner Hair Addict Salon and Extension BarHe tells luster. “With celebrities like Sabrina Carpenter rocking this look, this look will go mainstream this winter.”
Alia leads usa hairstylist at IGK NYC, also points to Carpenter as a major hair inspiration from 2024 to 2025. “We have Sabrina Carpenter to thank for being a big influencer for this look,” she says. An aesthetic we’ve all been enjoying lately. Plus, bangs become very practical once the temperature drops: “Now that the hot and sweaty season is over, bangs are easier to manage,” Yudina adds.
As for other looks we will see a lot of this winter? Lots of layers and very short crops like pixie and bob. “Lately, I’ve noticed that my clients are coming in to get a large amount of hair cut,” says the celebrity hairstylist. Eric John. “Anything from the collarbone to shorter or just below or along the jawline will give you the desired look!”
He adds that larger pieces are perfect for the new year: “Cutting a large amount of hair symbolizes a new beginning or a new chapter in life as you get rid of all the stagnant energy in your hair.”
