Tech billionaire Elon Musk appeared in a photo shared on social media alongside President-elect Donald Trump and his family, sparking speculation about Musk’s relationship and role with the new administration.
The photo, posted by Kay Trump, the daughter of Donald Trump Jr., is titled The Whole Squad, and shows Trump, his five children, five grandchildren, and Musk. It is noteworthy that First Lady Melania Trump was absent from the photo.
Newsweek The Trump campaign has been contacted for comment via email outside regular business hours.
The photo, which was posted on X, formerly Twitter, quickly went viral, sparking excitement and curiosity across social media.
Musk’s presence alongside RNC co-chair Lara Trump raised questions about the tech billionaire’s participation in the next administration.
His alignment with and closeness to Trump’s inner circle could point to potential collaboration or advisory roles in policy areas where Musk’s interests — such as space exploration, artificial intelligence, and energy — overlap with the new administration’s goals.
So far, no official statement has been issued regarding Musk’s role or intentions with the incoming administration. However, the billionaire’s inclusion in such a high-profile family photo suggests his influence may be felt in unexpected ways in the coming years.
The Trump family reunited after the election, looking forward to a new term in the White House.

Who is missing?
Trump, who won the popular vote for the first time in three tries, was surrounded by his family, except for his current wife. Trump’s third wife, Melania, was missing after speaking earlier in the day.
“The majority of Americans have entrusted us with this important responsibility. We will protect the heart of our republic — freedom,” the former and future first lady said in a social media post after her husband’s stunning victory.
“I expect our nation’s citizens to rejoin in a commitment to one another and to rise above ideology for individual freedom, economic prosperity, and security. American energy, skill, and initiative will bring together our best minds to move our nation forward forever.”
Melania accompanied her husband to vote on Election Day, sporting sunglasses, and later stood next to him, smiling proudly, during his victory speech on Tuesday night in Palm Beach, Florida.
As of Thursday morning, Trump had 295 electoral votes compared to 226 for Vice President Kamala Harris. He also leads the popular vote with 72 million compared to Harris’ 67 million. Two states, Nevada and Arizona, have not yet announced.
Melania made a rare, brief appearance during the election campaign. But several were notable, including one at the former president’s meeting at Madison Square Garden in New York City in October.
She also gave a keynote speech at the Republican National Convention in July.
The former First Lady recently embarked on a tour to promote her memoir.
During Trump’s first administration, the former first lady did not move into the White House until June.
When asked on Fox and friends Last month, about the possibility of returning to the White House, Melania hinted that she would accompany her husband to Washington, DC
“I’m not worried because this time is different. I have much more experience and more knowledge.” “I’ve been in the White House before, so when you walk in, you know exactly what to expect,” she added.
