The Redmi K80 series launch in China was announced earlier this month and the smartphones are expected to arrive in the country soon. The range will include a base and a Pro variant. Details about the alleged handsets have emerged online in recent weeks. Recently, one of the models was spotted on a benchmarking site suggesting details about the chipset. The company has now confirmed several key features of the Redmi K80 and Redmi K80 Pro displays. The phones could launch globally as Poco F7 Pro and Poco F7 Ultra, respectively.

The Redmi K80 series handsets will feature 2K resolution displays with full brightness DC dimming, Xiaomi’s Qingshan Eye Care as well as circular polarization technology, according to a Weibo. job by the company. The smartphone maker confirmed that the displays were developed by Redmi in partnership with the Zhongshan Eye Center of Sun Yat-sen University and TCL Huaxing.
The post also confirms that the Redmi K80 and K80 Pro will launch in China “next week”, i.e. the last week of November.
Another message from the company confirmed that the screens of the Redmi K80 series smartphones will come with triple certification from TÜV Rheinland and support up to 1,800 nits of maximum overall brightness level. For security reasons, the handsets will come with in-display ultrasonic fingerprint sensors.
The Redmi K80 series displays will be upgraded compared to the Redmi K70 series displays. They claim to offer a brighter experience with 20.3% lower power consumption than the front panels of previous handsets. These displays will also support a dedicated gaming mode.
Xinxin Mia, Product Manager at Redmi, previously confirmed that the upcoming Redmi K80 and Redmi K80 Pro will come with HyperOS 2.0 based on Android 15. The design of the smartphone lineup is expected to be different from the existing Redmi K70 variants.
Previously, a Geekbench listing of the Redmi K80 Pro suggested that the handset could be powered by Qualcomm’s latest octa-core Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. It will likely be paired with up to 16GB of RAM.
