British luxury automaker Rolls Royce is all set to officially launch its first EV in India on January 19, 2024.

However, the company delivered the first unit of the Spectre to Chennai’s resident Baashyaam Yuvaraj in November 2023.

The all-electric car is a sort of spiritual successor to the Phantom, which is expected to have a starting price of Rs 7-9 crore, ex-showroom.

The Rolls-Royce Spectre design is true to the Rolls-Royce heritage, as the front of the electric vehicle features the broadest Rolls-Royce grille ever, which will light up in the dark to offer a lovely ambience, as reported by HT.

It is worth noting that the iconic ‘Pantheon grille’ is illuminated by 22 LEDs, and the Pantheon grille’s vanes have been smoothed off and fitted with a flusher to aid in directing air around the front of the EV car.

Rolls Royce has also modified its trademark ‘Spirit Of Ecstasy’ for the EV, which is now fashioned more aerodynamically thanks to its narrower wingspan.Equipped with 23-inch wheels, the electric Rolls Royce has a drag coefficient of 0.25 cd, making it the most aerodynamic Rolls Royce vehicle ever.

Its rear profile comprises a fastback profile and the biggest single-body panel ever manufactured for a Rolls-Royce, which extends from the A-pillar to the baggage compartment, making it look more elegant. Meanwhile, the vertical tail lamps remain colourless for neutrality.

Furthermore, the Spectre will not use the company’s proprietary 6 ¾ V12 engine, unlike other Rolls Royce vehicles, but rather a set of electric motors on each of the wheels, making it a 4WD vehicle.

With its 430 kW and 900 Nm drivetrain, the new EV coupe enables the behemoth to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.4 seconds. This electric car is said to have a range of 323 miles or 520 km with a power consumption of 2.9 mi/kWh or 21.5 kWh/100 km thanks to a 102-kWh battery pack.

The Spectre’s interior suite provides clients with a new front seat design influenced by British tailoring, with lapel parts that can be rendered in colours that contrast or complement the primary basis.

Bespoke stitching, embroidery, and intricate piping have all been considered in the design process. The car is also available with Starlight Doors, which combine 4,796 gently illuminated stars for the first time on a series-production Rolls-Royce.

The coach doors can also be customised with a Canadel Panelling backdrop, named after the southern French cove where Sir Henry Royce and his design team spent their winters. The option to request exclusive designs that transcend beyond the real world and include the digital architecture that powers SPIRIT is a first for the Rolls-Royce client.

SPIRIT handles the car’s functions by integrating the marque’s Whispers application, which enables clients to interact with their vehicle remotely and get real-time information curated by the marque’s luxury intelligence specialists. Inspired by its clientele’s passion for personalised watches, the colour of the dials may now complement the interior hue of the motor automobile.

The EV vehicle is 2,975 kg in weight and has dimensions of 2,080 mm in width, 5,453 mm in length, and 1,559 mm in height.
