Apple on Wednesday released Final Cut Pro 11, the successor to Final Cut Pro X. The video editing application for Mac devices received new artificial intelligence (AI) features as well as the ability to edit spatial videos. This major update introduces features such as magnetic masking, subtitle transcription, and tools for editing spatial video titles and captured footage. Meanwhile, the Cupertino-based tech giant also rolled out updates to Final Cut Pro for iPad, Final Cut Camera, and Logic Pro.
Features of Apple Final Cut Pro 11
In a newsroom jobthe tech giant has detailed the new features introduced in Final Cut Pro 11. The new version of the video editing software now benefits from two new AI features, which use Apple’s M series chipsets. The first is the magnetic mask function. The feature can isolate people and objects in a video clip even where no green screen was used. The tech giant claims that this tool will allow users to customize backgrounds and environments. The magnetic mask can also be used with color correction and video effects.
Another AI-powered feature introduced with the new Final Cut Pro is Transcribe to Captions. With this, users can automatically generate subtitles in the video timeline. The company claimed that it uses a native extended language model (LLM) capable of transcribing spoken audio.
Apart from this, Final Cut Pro 11 also has the ability to edit spatial videos. These videos can be captured with the Apple Vision Pro, iPhone 15 Pro as well as the iPhone 16 series. The video editing software can perform color corrections, adjust the depth position of titles and clips, and much more.
Users will be able to select different viewing modes to focus on the left or right eye angle when editing spatial videos. Once edited, spatial videos can be directly exported to a user’s Photos library and viewed on Vision Pro.
Final Cut Pro 11 also retains existing features like magnetic timeline, multicam editing, improved proxy tools, and more.
