Car found in retention pond north of Indianapolis; 2 wounded

The Pike Township Fire Department said crews were called to the intersection of 86th Street and Township Line Road on Wednesday morning.

INDIANAPOLIS – Two people were injured after a The car was found in a retention pond on the north side of Indianapolis Wednesday morning.

At approximately 10 a.m. on Nov. 6, the Pike City Fire Department said crews were called to the intersection of 86th Street and Township Line Road on a report of a vehicle in a detention pond.

Officials said several civilian bystanders “jumped into action” and were able to pull the two occupants from the vehicle.


Emergency personnel helped the victims up the “steep, muddy hill” and then transported them to a local hospital, according to Sky News. Post on social media.

Pike Township Fire Department, Indianapolis Fire Department and Wayne Township Fire Department assisted with this incident.

The cause of the accident is currently being investigated.
