As the US presidential election approaches, Grammy Award-winning rapper Cardi B has publicly criticized Elon Musk after he called her a “puppet” who supports Democratic candidate Kamala Harris. Musk, a staunch supporter of Donald Trump, criticized Cardi B in response to a Trump fan account’s post showing a clip of her at a rally in Milwaukee for Harris.
“Another doll that can’t even speak without being fed words,” Musk said in a quote tweet, referring to a teleprompter glitch that caused Cardi B to pause for her speech notes to be delivered on the phone.
Cardi B quickly responded, saying, “I’m not a doll, Elon. I’m the daughter of immigrant parents who worked hard to provide for me!” She continued: “I am a product of welfare, Section 8, poverty, and the reality of a system that is set against you…but you wouldn’t know anything about that. You don’t understand the American struggle. PS: Fix my algorithm.”
I am not an Elon doll. I am the daughter of immigrant parents who had to do their best to support me! I am a product of welfare, I am a product of Section 8, I am a product of poverty and I am a product of what happens when the system is set against you…but you don’t… https://t.co/BBYQ2O0KYJ

Musk, who was born in South Africa to wealthy parents, including his father Errol Musk, who is said to own a stake in a Zambian emerald mine, has faced criticism for his statements on social and economic issues.
At the rally, Cardi B gave a powerful speech about women’s rights and condemned Donald Trump’s alleged sexism. “Just like Kamala Harris, I was the underdog, the one who was belittled and denigrated. Women have to work ten times harder to prove themselves, and we are still questioned. I can’t stand a bully, and like Kamala, I’ll always stand up to one “
The 2024 US presidential election is scheduled for November 5.
