CNN commentator Ana Navarro suggested that Elon Musk will take over the title of “First Lady” from Melania Trump after he appeared in a recent photo of the Trump family instead of her.
Speaking to a panel on Friday, Navarro pointed to a photo of the Trump family after the president-elect’s landslide victory in the 2024 race against Harris. Most of the family was present, but Melania was conspicuously absent.
However, Musk was standing in the front right of the photo.
It comes after reports that the billionaire tech businessman joined a call between Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Friday – details of which are unclear.
“I think it’s a bit strange, don’t you?” Navarro said. “I mean, Elon Musk seems to be everywhere at all times. He’s like the curator of everything, and at the same time, like the first lady.”
She continued: “On that day, I saw this picture of him. It was a photo of Trump with his entire family, except for Melania, but Elon Musk was there.
“There’s obviously also a conflict of interest. This is someone who has contracts with the Department of Defense. This is someone who has Starlink. This is a big part of what’s going on in Ukraine.”
“I find that a little weird, but as a Scott [Jennings] He said they won. He has the right to do what he wants. “If he wants Elon everywhere all the time, that’s what’s going to happen.”
Despite her absence from the family victory photo, Melania came out to support her husband after his win, posting on X about the former first couple’s return to the White House.
The majority of Americans have entrusted us with this important responsibility. “We will protect the heart of our republic – freedom,” she wrote.
“I expect our nation’s citizens to rejoin in a commitment to one another and to rise above ideology for individual freedom, economic prosperity, and security. American energy, skill, and initiative will bring together our best minds to move our nation forward forever.”
For his part, Musk continued to ramp up his frenetic posts on X — the social media platform he owns — and leaned into his role as one of Trump’s biggest cheerleaders.
His inclusion in the call with Zelensky on Friday likely reveals how much Trump values him, and portends a potential role in his administration.
Musk also said he would continue to support Ukraine through Starlink satellites — which have become central to communications for Ukrainian forces on the front line. The billionaire had previously mocked Zelensky on social media over his attempts to raise funds for his country’s war effort.
