President-elect Donald Trump won Arizona, the last state to be called in the 2024 presidential election, according to a race call conducted by The Associated Press.
Arizona’s victory represents a complete sweep for Trump in the seven swing states, bringing his total number of electoral votes to 312, including 226 for Vice President Harris.
Trump received the 270 votes needed to become president-elect at Wisconsin’s convocation early Wednesday morning.
With his victory in Arizona, Trump regained all the states that Biden flipped to the Democratic column in 2020: Arizona, Georgia, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, and Michigan. He also turned on the state of Nevada, which was called early Saturday morning.
The Associated Press has not yet called the race for the US Senate in Arizona between Republican candidate Carrie Lake and Democratic candidate Ruben Gallego, as a race to succeed outgoing Senator Kyrsten Sinema. It is the last U.S. Senate race to be called in the 2024 election.
According to the Associated Press, “While Trump won Arizona on Saturday, the race for the U.S. Senate is still very early. Gallego’s margin over Lake improved slightly on Saturday, but he did not win voting updates posted by county election officials by enough margin to close Lake’s path to victory. But it’s tightening with hundreds of thousands of ballots left to count and more updates are expected Sunday.
