Elon Musk’s mother, May Musk, has been accused of racism over a tweet she posted before the presidential election.

The 76-year-old author took to X/Twitter on Tuesday (November 5) to criticize an article allegedly found in works from New York Times. In the since-deleted post, which Reshared on XMay made comments about technology reporter Ryan Mack’s ethnicity while claiming he was writing a “hit piece” about Elon.

“I heard there will be a hit article for Elon by RMac18 in the New York Times tomorrow,” May wrote. “Unfortunately, Ryan is a Vietnamese American reporter. My book is a bestseller in Vietnam. I don’t think readers would believe the article if it was hateful and/or dishonest. let’s see.”

May published her first memoir, A Woman Makes a Plan: Advice for a Lifetime of Adventure, Beauty, and Success In 2019, she published her guide to fitness, nutrition and self-confidence, Feel Great – My Mask Wellness Clinicin 1996.

On X, she was met with enormous scrutiny for her post and her decision to mention Mac’s ethnicity.

“For your information, @RMac18 Born and raised in California. This is not the important thing. “Calling a reporter out because of his or her ethnic heritage is completely inappropriate,” NBC News correspondent Tyler Kingcade wrote.

“Always promoting racism. Another person replied: “Sad and twisted shot,” while a third wrote: “No one should be discriminated against their race in this way. Totally unacceptable.” @RMac18 He is a consummate professional.

Mack – known for his coverage of major tech figures including Elon and Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg – also responded to May’s comment. “Is anyone doing anything Vietnamese-American tonight?” He said jokingly. He also updated his bio on X to describe himself as a “Vietnamese American.”

However, May did not hesitate to defend herself in another post. “@nettimes I’ve been lied to about [Elon] For 15 years. Nothing new. It must be hard to be constantly obnoxious and dishonest. “I hope Ryan gets paid well,” she wrote.

The Independent I have contacted Maye’s representatives for comment.

May’s comment came on the day of the US presidential election, which Donald Trump has now been declared the winner of. Elon was a staunch advocate for the Republican nominee throughout his re-election campaign.

Elon, who also owns X, may be rewarded with a place in the future president’s new administration. The Tesla CEO’s influence was so stark that Trump, in his election night speech to supporters, praised the Space

Elon has appeared at numerous Trump rallies, as well as pumping millions of dollars into campaign groups supporting the Republican candidate. He also funded several sweepstakes in swing states that required people to register to vote and sign a pro-Trump petition to be eligible.

After Trump’s victory… Elon “The American people gave,” he tweeted @RealDonaldTrump A very clear mandate for change tonight.”
