Hero MotoCorp plans to launch an entry-level sporty motorcycle, the Xtreme 125R, to compete with Bajaj Pulsar NS 125 and TVS Raider in the Indian market.

Hero MotoCorp is planning on strengthening its model lineup in the Indian market with the launch of an all-new entry-level sporty motorcycle to rival the likes of Bajaj Pulsar NS 125 and TVS Raider.

The manufacturing company has been teasing motorcycle enthusiasts with Mavrick over the last few days, but no information about the two-wheeler has been leaked as of yet. However, in a latest development, pictures of the Hero Xtreme 125R have been leaked online, clearly showing its design details, as reported by Gaadiwaadi.

This motorcycle will be powered by a124.7 cc air-cooled engine found in the Glamour 125. However, Hero is likely to fine-tune the engine to match the Mavrick’s distinct character. With the introduction of the 125R, the biggest two-wheeler manufacturer in the country looks forward to broadening the appeal of its Xtreme lineup to include a wider spectrum of riders. The Hero Xtreme 125R has a crisp style concept that is complemented by the muscular-looking fuel tank and an in-the-face front profile with the headlight mounted in a razor-sharp housing.

The fuel tank extensions sport the 125R decals, while the front fender and tank extensions’ contrast blue finishes add to the visual impact. It comes with an all-LED lighting system that incorporates slim LED turn indicators. The instrument console is likely to have an LCD display with Bluetooth connectivity, with the performance coming from a 124.7 cc air-cooled Fi unit.

The same powertrain can be found in the Glamour 125, and we expect the performance figures to be the same. It will produce 11 bhp at 8,250 rpm and max torque of 10.5 Nm at 6,250 rpm. The powertrain will be coupled to a five-speed gearbox.

Talking about the pricing, Hero could price it at about Rs. 90,000 (ex-showroom) to undercut the Raider 125.

A telescopic front fork, monoshock rear suspension, split seats, a wide handlebar, black-finished alloy wheels, a small fly screen, a compact rear end, and front and rear disc brakes assisted by a single-channel ABS system (rear drum brake on some models) are among the other highlights. Compared to the Xtreme 160R, the overall design has evolved with added sportiness.

Besides this, excitement is building in the world of motorcycle enthusiasts’ as Hero MotoCorp is all set to revolutionise the motorcycle industry with the global debut of its latest creation, Hero Mavrick 440 tomorrow.

The Mavrick 440 is poised to bring the first Hero-branded motorcycle spawned out of the partnership with Harley-Davidson in India, aiming to differentiate itself from competitors in the market.
