The Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra and select models that have been plagued by the infamous green line issue will be eligible for one-time screen replacement at authorized service centers in India. This offer will be available until the end of the year, the company confirmed. However, the South Korean tech conglomerate has placed certain limits on the eligibility of devices, taking into account their purchase date, condition and other factors.
Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra screen replacement
First of all discovered by tipster Tarun Vats, Samsung Support has confirmed that its screen replacement program will be valid for Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra, Galaxy S21, and Galaxy S21 FE 5G models that are out of warranty until December 31, 2024. However, appliances should not have any physical damage or signs of water damage.
Gadgets 360 staff members were able to contact Samsung Support to confirm the availability of this replacement program in the country.
The company will perform OCTA (On-Cell Touch AMOLED) assembly replacement as well as free battery and kit replacement, but with certain terms and conditions. Samsung says devices within three years of the purchase date will be eligible for free parts replacement. In addition, only the first buyer will be able to obtain the replacement upon presentation of the original invoice.
Although there is no charge for replacement parts, labor costs for repair will be the customer’s responsibility. They can make an appointment at their nearest authorized service center to avail this offer.
However, this is not the first time that Samsung has offered such an offer. In April, Samsung announced a special replacement program in the country for devices affected by the green line issue on the screen. At the time, the list of eligible devices included the Samsung Galaxy S20 series, Galaxy Note 20 series, Galaxy S21 series, and Galaxy S22. Reports suggest that green line issues occurred mainly on Samsung smartphones equipped with AMOLED displays after software updates. However, the tech giant isn’t the only original equipment manufacturer (OEM) to fall victim to this. Last month, OnePlus acknowledged display issues surrounding several of its devices, saying it was an “industry-wide challenge.”
