The cars narrowly missed the child, Misa, who ran into the road

Details emerged after a terrifying video was captured in Mesa showing a young child in the road before a woman rushed to rescue him from passing cars.

A dash cam captured the scene on Friday, November 8, at a busy intersection nearby 96th Street and University Road.

She sees the boy in the middle of the road while the car narrowly misses him. Then the woman pulls him to safety.

FOX 10 spoke with the boy’s father, Alex Chappelle, on Nov. 10, who expressed gratitude to the woman who saved his son.

He wasn’t home when his son left, but he received an alert from the doorbell camera when the woman brought his son home.

He said: “I see the door of my house wide open, and there is a woman carrying my child, and she tells me that my children are running in the middle of the street.”

He says he is not proud of what happened.

The girl’s father said: “I am grateful that a resident of the area saw them and saved them from harm, and I am very grateful to him. I did not quite get her name, but I would like to thank her personally.” His nine-month-old son was also able to get out of the house.

He says it’s a reminder to keep a close eye on your children.

“Be more attentive to your children there,” he said.

The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office is investigating this incident and is considering endangerment charges against the child’s mother.
